Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich has announced that he will officially drop out of the 2012 Presidential race. Gingrich had only won a total of two states in South Carolina and Georgia. With him now out, it is now inevitable that the man taking on President Obama this fall will be former governor Mitt Romney. Romney has almost swept all of the delegates and is turning out to be the clear favorite for this years Republican nomination. Gingrich stated that it is now clear that Romney will be the GOP nominee, and will be the man taking on Obama for the White House.
